Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w całej Europie, ponadto notowany z Kaukazu i Ameryki Północnej. W środkowej części Europy częstszy na obszarach górzystych; w miarę posuwania się na południe coraz rzadszy. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze oprócz wyższych partii górskich, nie znany jednak jeszcze z wielu krain. Znajdowany w chodnikach korników, przeważnie w drzewach iglastych — pod korą gałęzi starszych drzew oraz martwych pni (stojących i powalonych). Uznawany za drapieżnika odżywiającego się jajami i młodymi larwami korników.
