Taxon description
Gatunek europejski, obszar jego rozmieszczenia pokrywa się z zasięgiem jodły. Jodłowiec kolcozębny w Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju. Głównym żywicielem jest jodła, sporadycznie spotykany na modrzewiu. Opada głównie strzały z cienką korą oraz gałęzie. Żerowisko typu gwiaździstego wyraźniej odbija się na korze niż na bielu. Larwy przed przepoczwarczeniem wgryzają się w drewno.
