Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem północnej części Fennoskandii, notowany również z północnej Afryki, Kaukazu, Syberii i Iranu. W Polsce jest rzadko spotykanym chrząszczem, znanym zaledwie z kilku stanowisk. Znajdowany przeważnie pod zmurszałą korą martwych, stojących lub powalonych drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza topól, rzadziej buków i dębów, wyjątkowo pod korą drzew iglastych.
