Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1978:
Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowej i środkowej Europie, notowany ponadto z Kaukazu i tylko trzech południowych prowincji Szwecji. W Polsce znany z pojedynczych stanowisk, przy czym większość danych oparta jest na znaleziskach z ubiegłego stulecia. Pewne stanowiska tego gatunku leżą w południowej części kraju, dane z okolic Gdańska wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. O ich występowaniu w byłych Prusach wątpi A. Horion (1949). Notowany omyłkowo z Warmii (S. Mazur 1973c) prawdopodobnie na podstawie błędnych danych odnoszących się do innego gatunku i terenu leżącego na północ od naszej granicy. Wszędzie, również w Polsce, rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany. Występuje w starych, dziuplastych pniach, w biało lub czerwono murszejącym drewnie drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza buków, rzadziej dębów, często w towarzystwie gniazd mrówek Lasius fuliginosus (Latr.) i Formica cunicularia Latr.
