Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1995:

Obszar rozsiedlenia tego ryjkowca obejmuje cały łuk karpacki aż po Alpy Transsylwańskie, Sudety oraz góry w Turyngii i Saksonii. W Polsce zamieszkuje głównie tereny wyżynne i górskie; jest spotykany na ogół rzadko i sporadycznie, tylko z Gór Świętokrzyskich i Sudetów Zachodnich częściej notowany. Zasiedla polany leśne, wilgotne łąki i hale górskie oraz pobrzeża potoków. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano na rdeście wężowniku — Polygonum bistorta L. i szczawiu alpejskim — Rumex alpinus L., ponadto bardzo często pod kamieniami.
