Taxon description
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem Pireneje oraz obszary górzyste w środkowej części Europy, wykazywany ponadto z Syberii. W Polsce notowany głównie z Sudetów i Karpat. Dawna wzmianka sprzed przeszło stu lat o znalezieniu tego gatunku na dwu stanowiskach nizinnych (Osterloff 1882) wydaje się niewiarygodna. Informacja o występowaniu na Śląsku Dolnym (Gerhardt 1903, 1910), na podstawie jednego znaleziska, wymaga potwierdzenia nowym materiałem. Występuje w zimnych, górskich biotopach leśnych, docierając do górnej granicy lasu; w Bieszczadach łowiony w reglu dolnym i na połoninach. Spotykany od maja do sierpnia na drzewach, krzewach i roślinach zielnych. Żeruje na liściach, zeskrobując ich warstwę górną, nie naruszając strony dolnej. Bionomia słabo poznana; samice z jajami obserwowano w lipcu i sierpniu.
