Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek pospolity, rozpowszechniony w całej prawie Europie z wyjątkiem skrajnych części północnych, wykazany z zachodniej Syberii, Zakaukazia i Iranu. Występuje w silnie zarośniętych, stojących zbiornikach wodnych i spokojnych miejscach w wolno płynących rzekach. Spotykany głównie w stawach, starorzeczach, łachach, a nawet w rowach melioracyjnych.
