Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w północnej i środkowej Europie oraz lokalnie w górzystych terenach południowej Europy. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, znany z nielicznych i rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Występuje najczęściej pod korą drzew liściastych uprzednio zaatakowanych przez chrząszcze podkorowe i drewnożerne; w górach spotykany również na drzewach iglastych.
