Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w południowej i środkowej części Europy, notowany ponadto z Syberii, Azji Mniejszej, Kaukazu i Turkiestanu. W Polsce wykazywany z przeszło połowy krain, ale dane o jego występowaniu na Śląsku, w Sudetach Wschodnich i Beskidzie Zachodnim opierają się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat, dlatego też wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Zasiedla ciepłe i suche środowiska. Jako rośliny żywicielskie podawane są: śliwa domowa — Prunus domestica L., śliwa tarnina — Prunus spinosa L., wiśnia karłowata — Cerasus fruticosa (Pall.) Woronow, czeremcha zwyczajna — Padus avium Mill., głóg jednoszyjkowy — Crataegus monogyna Jacq., głóg dwuszyjkowy — C. oxyacantha L. i jabłoń domowa — Malus domestica (L.) Mill. Postacie dojrzałe są spotykane od kwietnia do lipca. Samice składają jaja do niedojrzałych owoców, w których odbywa się rozwój larwy. Przepoczwarczenie następuje w glebie.
