Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1993:
Pospolity gatunek, szeroko rozpowszechniony w całej Europie, w Fennoskandii docierający do skrajnych obszarów północnych, a na wschód sięgający po Syberię i Azję Mniejszą. W Polsce rozsiedlony od Bałtyku aż po Sudety i Karpaty. Postacie dojrzałe spotyka się w ciągu całego roku. Larwy drążą chodniki i żerują w butwiejącym, wilgotnym drewnie pni, pniaków, odkrytych korzeni, zarówno martwych jak i żyjących uszkodzonych drzew iglastych i liściastych, również w wilgotnych kłodach i belkach.
