Taxon description
Gatunek południowopalearktyczny, w Europie znany głównie z jej części południowej oraz z nielicznych stanowisk kserotermicznych w części środkowej. Dokładne rozsiedlenie tego gatunku nie jest poznane, gdyż prawidłowe oznaczenie uzyskuje się przez zbadanie aparatu genitalnego samca. Wszystkie dawne dane o rozmieszczeniu w Szwecji i wiele danych z Europy środkowej odnosi się do niedawno opisanego gatunku S. (S.) apetzoides Capra, et Fursch. Na obszarze Polski występowanie jego nie jest dokładnie zbadane. Według R. Bielawskiego (1978) wykazywany z okolic Warszawy i Pienin, co ma uzasadnienie w danych z piśmiennictwa, natomiast wymienione przez tego autora «okolice Krakowa» nie uznaje się jako pewne, ponieważ w opracowaniu biedronek okolic Krakowa gatunek ten był pominięty (Stebnicka 1972). Okaz z Michalina okazał się, po zbadaniu, S. (S.) apetzoides Capra et Fürsch (W. Czechowska*). Również dane z innych krain tymczasowo uważa się za wątpliwe do czasu udokumentowania nowymi materiałami. Występuje na roślinach zielnych w środowiskach o charakterze kserotermicznym.
