Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w środkowej i południowo-wschodniej części Europy, notowany poza tym z Zabajkala. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadko spotykany, wykazany z nielicznych stanowisk leżących w południowej części kraju. Zamieszkuje tereny nizinne i niższe położenia górskie oraz głębokie doliny górskie. Występuje nad rzekami i strumieniami, przeważnie wśród mchów na skarpach, groblach, tamach i nasypach. Poławiany najczęściej w napływkach popowodziowych.
