Taxon description
Stosunkowo niedawno opisany gatunek, występujący w zachodniej części Palearktyki. W Polsce chrząszcz mało znany, wykazany w 1983 r. z siedmiu krain, prawdopodobnie zasiedlający u nas cały obszar, wszędzie na niżu i w niższych położeniach górskich, gdzie rośnie jego pospolita roślina żywicielska, którą jest kielisznik zaroślowy — Calystegia sepium (L.) R. Br. W nasionach tej rośliny omawiany chrząszcz odbywa rozwój larwalny.
