Taxon description
Gatunek znany z południowo-wschodniej części środkowej Europy i południowo-wschodniej Europy oraz Azji Mniejszej. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, złowiony w roku 1924 i od tego czasu powtórnie nie znaleziony. Zamieszkuje tereny górskie docierając do strefy subalpejskiej. Występuje przeważnie lokalnie na pobrzeżach potoków wśród wilgotnych mchów.
