Taxon description
Gatunek północnopalearktyczny, w Europie rozmieszczony od skrajnych północnych prowincji Fennoskandii do Pirenejów i północnych części Włoch i Półwyspu Bałkańskiego, a na wschód przez Syberię docierający do północnej Mongolii i Alaski. Zasiedla głównie tereny górzyste, w Alpach dociera do wysokości około 2700 m n.p.m., na niżu występuje lokalnie, gdzie zresztą znajdowany rzadko i sporadycznie. W Polsce znany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk. Spotykany w górach na pobrzeżach wód i w pobliżu topniejących pól śnieżnych, pod kamieniami na miejscach wilgotnych; na obszarach nizinnych w wilgotnych środowiskach pod rozkładającymi szczątkami roślinnymi, padliną i w nawozie, a na pobrzeżu morskim pod gnijącymi morszczynami.
