Taxon description
Bardzo rzadki gatunek o słabo poznanym rozsiedleniu. Opisany z Międzyzdrojów na podstawie pokaźnej liczby okazów znalezionych w 1853 r. i mimo upływu przeszło 130 lat od tego czasu powtórnie tani nie spotykany. Jest to relikt lasów pierwotnych, znajdowany przeważnie w pojedynczych okazach na nielicznych rozproszonych stanowiskach. Poza Polską notowany z Austrii, Moraw, Słowacji, Krainy, Sycylii, Siedmiogrodu i Grecji. Gatunek ten jest wikariantem wschodnioeuropejskim zachodniego gatunku T. cylindricus (Ol.). Znajdowany pod korą dębów i buków w chodnikach larw rozwiertka większego — Xyleborus monographus (Fabr.).
