Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1992:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w całej Europie, na wschód docierający przez Syberię na Daleki Wschód i do Japonii. Drwalnik znaczony w Polsce występuje głównie na niżu, w górach niezbyt często spotykany, z niektórych krain brak jeszcze danych o jego występowaniu. Występuje najczęściej na strzałach brzóz, rzadziej buków, grabów, dębów i lip. Bionomia jak u innych drwalników.
