Taxon description
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie, notowany także z Syberii i Kaukazu. W Polsce występuje na całym obszarze od Bałtyku aż po Tatry. Jest to najczęściej spotykany gatunek omawianego rodzaju, występujący w hubach oraz w przegrzybiałym drewnie, zarówno drzew liściastych jak i iglastych. Rozwój odbywa w suchych grzybach nadrzewnych oraz w hubach. Jako miejsca siedliskowe podawano w piśmiennictwie kilkanaście gatunków hub.
