Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986a:

Gatunek europejsko-syberyjski, w Europie sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, a na południe do Francji, północnych Włoch, Rumunii i Ukraińskiej SRR. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, notowany dotychczas tylko z 8 krain. Spotykany w gniazdach mrówek Formica rufa L. i F. pratensis Retzius, niekiedy razem z Monotoma (G.) conicicollis Aubé.
