Europa, Anatolia.
Gatunek jednodomny i holocykliczny. Żyje na przelocie pospolitym, komonicy zwyczajnej i komonicy błotnej — Lotus uliginosus Schk. Występuje zarówno na stanowiskach kserotermicznych, jak i na podmokłych i bagiennych, co jest zjawiskiem raczej wyjątkowym u mszyc.
