U nas holocykliczny i jednodomny. Oligofag na roślinach motylkowych: Sarothamnus scoparius (L.) Wimm., Medicago falcata L., Medicago sativa L., Trifolium repens L., Trifolium pratense L., Lotus uliginosus Schk., Caragana arborescens Lam., Oxytropis pilosa (L.) DC., Onobrychis viciaefolia Scop., Vicia cracca L., Lathyrus latifolius L., Lathyrus silvestris L., Lathyrus odoratus L., Pisum sativum L. Szkodnik grochu i upraw motylkowych; notowany jako wektor chorób wirusowych.
