Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony od południowej części Fennoskandii przez całą Europę środkową aż po Jugosławię i Rumunię; wykazywany również z Syberii. W Polsce dość częsty na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich. Chrząszcz odbywa rozwój w grabie zwyczajnym — Carpinus betulus L. i w leszczynie — Corylus avellana L. Postacie dojrzałe występują od maja do września.
