Gatunek rozmieszczony w Azji Mniejszej i w południowo-wschodniej Europie, na zachód docierający do Włoch, Austrii i Śląska Dolnego. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk w południowo-zachodniej części kraju. Gatunek uważany za myrmekofilny. Spotykany w gniazdach mrówek z rodzaju Lasius Fabr., przeważnie pod korą, w drewnie spróchniałym przy podstawie starych drzew, zwłaszcza butwiejących dębów, niekiedy pod kamieniami i listowiem.
