Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w południowej części Europy i w zachodniej części Afryki Północnej, na północ docierający do Austrii, a na wschód do Ukraińskiej SRR. W Polsce dotychczas nie stwierdzony. Ogólnikowa wzmianka M. Łomnickiego o występowaniu omawianego gatunku u nas opiera się na danych odnoszących się do znaleziska w okolicy Sokala na Wołyniu (Ukr. SRR). Stanowisko to leży w odległości około 20 km od naszej linii granicznej, istnieje więc możliwość znalezienia tego chrząszcza w południowo-wschodniej części naszego kraju. Spotykany w ekskrementach końskich i ludzkich.
