Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozsiedlony głównie w Europie północnej i północnej części Europy środkowej, dalej na południe izolowanymi nielicznymi stanowiskami docierający do Francji, Włoch północnych, Serbii i Rumunii. Wszędzie, również w Polsce, bardzo rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany. Notowany z naszego kraju z nielicznych i rozproszonych stanowisk. Wykazany omyłkowo przez F. Hildta (1896) z okolic Warszawy, co później (1916) ten sam autor sprostował. Znajdowany w końskich odchodach przeważnie na drogach leśnych. Pojawia się na jesieni, a nawet w zimie, na przykład koło Szczecina obserwowany był w większej liczbie okazów na świeżych ekskrementach końskich przy temperaturze -10°.
