Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek zamieszkujący całą północną i środkową część Europy, na zachód docierający do Francji, a na południe izolowanymi stanowiskami górskimi do północnych części Włoch i Hiszpanii, notowany ponadto z Kaukazu, Zakaukazia i północno-zachodniej części Azji. W Polsce prócz wyższych partii górskich prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i pagórkowatych, głównie na stanowiskach otwartych, pobrzeżach lasu i polanach leśnych. Poławiany od czerwca do września w ekskrementach krów i koni.
