Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek palearktyczny, obecnie uważany za kosmopolityczny, zawleczony do wszystkich części świata i tworzący rasy lokalne. W Europie szeroko rozprzestrzeniony, na północ docierający do Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych części Fennoskandii. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Poławiany od wczesnej wiosny do późnej jesieni, przeważnie wśród rozkładających się szczątków roślinnych, w pryzmach kompostowych, rzadziej w ekskrementach różnych zwierząt oraz na padlinie.
