Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w południowej, zachodniej i środkowej części Europy, znany również z nielicznych stanowisk w Skandynawii południowej. Wszędzie, również w Polsce, rzadko spotykany; znany u nas z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Spotykany przeważnie pojedynczo we wrześniu i październiku w ekskrementach krów, owiec i dzikich zwierząt. Godnym uwagi jest jego pasożytniczy sposób życia w zapasach pokarmowych gromadzonych przez różne gatunki z rodzaju Geotrupes L., zwłaszcza przez G. stercorarius L.
