Gatunek borealno-alpejski, podany ze Związku Radzieckiego, Czechosłowacji, Półwyspu Skandynawskiego (Norwegia, Szwecja, Finlandia) oraz z Islandii, Grenlandii i Anglii. Występuje na korzeniach licznych roślin, wśród mchu.
