Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek znany głównie ze środkowej części Europy, wykazany ponadto z Danii i jednej południowej prowincji Szwecji. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko notowany, gdyż przez niektórych badaczy uważany za odmianę Atheta (Philhygra) terminalis (Grav.). Rozmieszczenie w naszym kraju wymaga dokładnych badań, albowiem pod koniec ubiegłego wieku omawiany gatunek wykazany był wprawdzie ze Śląska przez K. Letznera i J. Gerhardta, ale później J. Gerhardt (1910) nie uwzględnił go w spisie chrząszczy śląskich. Występuje głównie na obszarach nizinnych na podmokłych łąkach oraz w wilgotnych lasach — wśród mchów, w kępkach trawy oraz pod opadłymi liśćmi.
