Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie południową i środkową część Europy, wykazywany również z nielicznych stanowisk na Wyspach Brytyjskich i w południowej części Fennoskandii. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, znany tylko ze Śląska Dolnego, od roku 1910 już nie notowany. Zamieszkuje bagniste lasy i zatorfione łąki na obszarach nizinnych. Znajdowany pod opadłym listowiem i wśród wilgotnych mchów.
