Gatunek bardzo mało znany, opisany z południowych Węgier i poza tym obszarem od przeszło 70 lat nigdzie nie notowany. W Polsce stosunkowo niedawno odkryty w Bieszczadach na wysokości około 1000 m n.p.m. Bionomia tego bardzo rzadkiego gatunku nie jest znana. Na górze Borsuk znaleziono cztery okazy w słabo wilgotnej, brunatnawej ściółce zgromadzonej na dnie dziupli w podstawowej części ogromnego gnijącego pnia jaworu — Acer pseudoplatanus L.
