Taxon description
Szeroko rozprzestrzeniony gatunek w Palearktyce, w Europie sięgający do Wysp Brytyjskich i środkowych prowincji Fennoskandii, notowany również ze wschodniej Indii. W Polsce wykazywany od Bałtyku aż po Tatry, ale brak jeszcze danych z kilku krain. Zamieszkuje obszary nizinne i górzyste, zarówno tereny otwarte, jak i lesiste. Znajdowany przeważnie wśród różnego rodzaju gnijących materiałów organicznych.
