Gatunek pospolity rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem północnych prowincji Fennoskandii. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze. Znajdowany pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi.
