Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony gatunek zachodniopalearktyczny, znany prawie z całej Europy, na północy dochodzi do 64° szer. geogr. Poza tym wykazywany z północnej Afryki, Kaukazu i zachodniej części Azji. Z balastem okrętowym zawleczony do Ameryki Północnej. Zasiedla gleby różnych typów przeważnie na otwartych terenach, ale występuje również w jasnych lasach liściastych. Unika jałowych piasków i torfowisk, często wykazywany z pól uprawnych, łąk i ogrodów.
