Taxon description

Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Palearktyce od zachodnich wybrzeży Europy po Chiny i Japonię, notowany też jako importowany z Europy do Ameryki Północnej. Żeruje na różnych roślinach z rodziny komosowatych — Chenopodiaceae, zwłaszcza na komosie białej — Chenopodium album L. Zaliczany do groźnych szkodników upraw buraków cukrowych i pastewnych.
