Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony we wschodniej i środkowej części Europy. W Polsce wykazywany z nielicznych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Ryjkowiec kserofilny, występujący głównie na miejscach piaszczystych — suchych zboczach, rumowiskach, pobrzeżach dróg, w zaroślach i wzdłuż murów. Według S. Smreczyńskiego (1974) żyje w Polsce i w północnej części środkowej Europy wyłącznie na pyleńcu pospolitym — Berteroa incana (L.) Dc, natomiast w Austrii Dolnej i na Węgrzech na pszonaku siwym — Erysimum canescens Roth i pszonaku jastrzębcolistnym — E. hieraciifolium L. Według M. Wanata* imago przebywa zwykle na ziemi przy szyjce korzeniowej Berteroa incana (L.) Dc. i rzadko obserwuje się je wyżej na roślinie. Informacje S. Smreczyńskiego o rozwoju na roślinach z rodzaju Erysimum L. w Austrii i na Węgrzech odnoszą się najprawdopodobniej do opisanego w 1981 r. Ceutorhynchus strejceki Dieckm., bardzo podobnego do Ceutorhynchus puncticollis (Boh.).
