Taxon description
Szelegiewicz 1968:
Gatunek szeroko rozmieszczony w całej zachodniej Palearktyce. Tworzy szereg podgatunków geograficznych (Hille Ris Lambers in litt.). Nasze okazy należą do nowego, dotąd nie opisanego jeszcze podgatunku, który rozmieszczony jest w północnej i środkowej Europie.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żeruje w niewielkich koloniach na młodych pędach i liściach wierzby białej — Salix alba L. wierzby migdałowej — Salix amygdalina L., głównie jednak na wiklinie — Salix purpurea L.
