Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990b:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii i środkowych prowincji Fennoskandii aż po kraje śródziemnomorskie, na wschód sięgający po Syberię, Azję Mniejszą i Środkową. Zasiedla pobrzeża wód i łąk wilgotnych, mokradła, rowy i inne miejsca wilgotne. Spotykany w ciągu całego roku. W okresie wegetacyjnym żeruje na różnych roślinach z rodziny wargowych (Labiatae), szczególnie na miętach — Mentha L.; w miesiącach zimowych znajdowano go w ściółce, pod odstającą korą i w próchniejących kłodach.
