Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i północną część Europy, w Fennoskandii docierający do skrajnych prowincji północnych, a na wschód przez Syberię sięgający po północno-wschodnie Chiny. W Polsce chrząszcz notowany z nielicznych stanowisk, rozmieszczonych głównie w zachodniej i północnej części kraju. Zasiedla torfowiska, zalewiska, pobrzeża wód, wilgotnych lasów, łąk oraz rowów. Żyje na różnych gatunkach wierzb — Salix L., jak np. wierzba krucha — S. fragilis L., wierzba rokita — S. rosmarinifolia L. i wierzba uszata — S. aurita L.
