Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Kosmopolityczny gatunek występujący najczęściej w środowiskach synantropijnych, znany prawie z całej Europy prócz jej skrajnych części północnych. Z Polski notowany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk zarówno na północy, jak i na południu kraju. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i górskie, gdzie sięga ponad górną granicę lasu. Spotykany w nawozie, pryzmach kompostowych, gnijącym sianie i słomie, pod ekskrementami, zwłaszcza końskimi, nadto w gnijących jabłkach i wytłoczynach moszczowych.
