Taxon description
Gatunek występujący na terenach górzystych w południowej i środkowej części Europy oraz w południowych prowincjach Fennoskandii. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadki, znany dotychczas tylko z Sudetów, ogólnikowo bez bliższych danych notowany też z Tatr i Beskidów. Spotykany przeważnie w hubach na drzewach iglastych (świerk, sosna, modrzew), rzadziej liściastych (brzoza, buk, olcha), niekiedy znajdowany również przy podstawie drzew w przegrzybiałym, opadłym igliwiu i listowiu, pod odstającą korą i w stosach pleśniejącego chrustu.
