Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w Europie południowej i w południowo-wschodniej części Europy Środkowej, wykazywany ponadto z Syberii, Zabajkala, Kaukazu, Turkiestanu, Iranu i Tybetu. W faunie Europy Środkowej reprezentuje element pontyjski. W Polsce nie został stwierdzony w sposób wiarygodny. Wprawdzie P. Fejfer (1924) podał wzmiankę, że „Jeden egzemplarz złapałem w Ojcowie 14 VI 1913. Jeden okaz z Bolechowa tego rzadkiego gatunku, ofiarował mi ze swej kolekcji E. Patkiewicz.", to jednak w zbiorze F. Fejera, przechowywanym w Instytucie Zoologii PAN w Warszawie, brak okazu dowodowego z Ojcowa, chociaż znajduje się okaz z Bolechowa (stanowisko to znajduje się w Ukraińskiej SRR) — (B. Burakowski*). Jest chrząszczem ciepłolubnym, zasiedlającym tereny stepowe i zbocza kserotermiczne.
