Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek występujący w niemal całej Europie z wyjątkiem obszarów północnych Fennoskandii, notowany nadto z Maroka. W Polsce notowany wprawdzie na obszarze niemal całego kraju, z wyjątkiem pięciu krain, jednak z pozostałych wykazywany przez nielicznych autorów, a dane o występowaniu tego ryjkowca wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami, gdyż na Śląsku Górnym opierają się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło 140 lat. Żyje na dębie szypułkowym — Quercus robur L. i dębie bezszypułkowym — Q. sessilis Ehrh. Bionomia i cykl rozwojowy tego ryjkowca nie są dobrze poznane. Postać dojrzała żywi się tkankami pączków i młodych liści. Larwa żeruje w kwiatostanach żeńskich.
