Europa, Zakaukazie, Bliski Wschód.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żeruje na liściach, zwłaszcza między odcinkami liści, bylicy pospolitej — Artemisia vulgaris L. i bylicy piołunu — Artemisia absinthium L.
