Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl rzadziej od poprzedniego gatunku (Conistra vaccinii) spotykany, lecz rozpowszechniony i znany z różnych środowisk leśnych, ogrodów i parków. Lata od VIII do V z przerwą na sen zimowy. Młode gąsienice, o brudnozielonym ubarwieniu w ciemniejsze poprzeczne krótkie, szerokie pręgi na stronie grzbietowej żerują początkowo na baziach i pączkach wierzb, tarnin, dębów i innych drzew liściastych, a później na roślinach zielnych jak mniszek, babka i inne. W czasie linienia barwa jak u wielu gatunków gąsienic, jaśnieje. Dorosłe gąsienice mają po dwie czarne plamy na segmencie od strony grzbietowej i cienkie jasne linie wzdłuż ciała. Długie ich owłosienie ma rudą barwę. Przepoczwarczają się na ziemi lub płytko w ziemi w oprzędach.
