Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozsiedleniu; notowany z nielicznych stanowisk w różnych częściach Europy, Azji Mniejszej i Syberii Zachodniej. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie znajdowany, notowany z dziewięciu krain, przeważnie z pojedynczych stanowisk, przy czym wzmianki o występowaniu w Gdańsku i w Sudetach opierały się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat, dlatego też wymagają one potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Spotykany od maja do lipca na dębach i brzozach.
