Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986a:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od krajów śródziemnomorskich przez środkową Europę aż do południowych części Anglii, Szwecji i Finlandii; do tych północnych krajów był zawleczony z towarami. W Polsce znany z niewielu stanowisk w pięciu krainach. W środkowej Europie występuje zazwyczaj synantropijnie w młynach, składach, magazynach i w pomieszczeniach mieszkalnych — wśród zboża i jego przetworów. Spotykany także w warunkach naturalnych pod odstającą korą pni i pieńków drzew liściastych, w starych Łubach i w żerowiskach chodników pod zmurszałą korą.
