Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w północnej i środkowej Europie, w Fennoskandii sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, a na południu docierający do północnych Włoch, Bośni i Siedmiogrodu. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, znany z nielicznych stanowisk. Występuje na obszarach nizinnych i pagórkowatych. Chrząszcz wilgociolubny, znajdowany na szlamistych pobrzeżach wód, bagnach i torfowiskach pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, w napływkach i w wilgotnym murszu starych wierzb.
