Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1985:
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w niemal całej Europie z wyjątkiem skrajnych części północnych; notowany też z Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej i Ałtaju. W Polsce prócz obszarów górzystych występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze, nie jest notowany jednak jeszcze z kilku krain nizinnych. Zamieszkuje tereny nizinne i niższe położenia górskie do wysokości około 1000 m n.p.m. Zasiedla głównie lasy iglaste na glebach piaszczystych i suche wrzosowiska. Larwy żyją w piaszczystej glebie i w ściółce. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w kwietniu i przeżywają do połowy lipca. Odbywają loty podczas dni słonecznych. Są zwykle poławiane na kwitnących krzewach i nisko rosnących roślinach.
